The inaugural Stand with Estela Casas 5K, Fun Walk & Kid’s Dash on Oct. 1 at Ascarate Park is just around the corner! Race Day fast approaches so a few reminders to help you prepare.

RACE DAY HAPPENINGS
Please arrive early to Ascarate as we are expecting a good turnout of racers, joggers, walkers, and supporters. We will start the day with Zumba at 7 a.m., and the race events begin promptly at 8 a.m. with the Kid’s Dash, then the competitive 5K, followed by the non-competitive 5K and 1-mile Fun Walk. After the race/walk, please stick around to enjoy the food trucks (cash and cards welcome), a stage with entertainment, important community vendors, and a soccer exhibit.

In partnership with Desert Imaging, we will give away up to 200 3D mammogram vouchers to uninsured women above age 40 and will provide onsite mammograms with the Mammos on the Move (MOM) mobile mammography clinic. Albertsons will provide 300 free flu shots and $25 gift cards (limit 2 per family), and Centro San Vicente will provide free Covid vaccines and boosters for everyone ages 6 months and above.

One hundred percent of the money raised during this event stays in our community to provide lifesaving resources and services to financially challenged families to prevent, treat, and recover from a cancer journey.
